Headspace (2005)
Just creating a new thread for this, as I've heard absolutely no mention of it on these boards. I just finished, and I must wonder... why hasn't anyone mentioned this?
+ Slickly directed + Shows no signs of it's poor budget + Well acted (in terms of B movies) + Excellent Gore and Effects (I mean EXCELLENT) + Doesn't rely on SHOWING it's monster (though it does in the end scenes) + Uses traditional effects as apposed to digitally rendered (rubber suits for monsters) + A good twist, and a few very obvious ones + Psychological and serious Honestly, as far as B-movies go, this is great. I definately reccomend it, and hope at least a few of you give this a chance. Now... it's no instant-classic, but as far as today's standard go? Leaps and bounds above recent material. I expecially loved how in the scenes dealing with the creatures, it didn't show them. It occasionally flashed a foot, or a hand - and had slimy, grimacing, munching noises. It psychically shook bodies (a corpse on the ground slowly shakes as the creature snacks on it's face out of frame) much like some scenes in Silent Hill 3. The dramatic, slow close-ups. Anyway... check it out. :) |

A C- for the gore? Why would you say that? There was a substantial amount of gore, without going overboard. It was all done very well, and did not show any signs of the budget. It look pretty realistic when compared to gore in a lot of other horror movies.
