I Spit on Your Grave on Horror Channel UK, TCM (remake) on CH4 and Straw Dogs on FX!

What a weekend of movies for those of us with multi-channel TV!

I wonder how cut / edited they'll be? I've never seen I Spit or Straw Dogs on TV.

Straw Dogs will be edited, FX is just a cable channel over here, and they cut all their movies down to PG-13-ish.

I Spit is a movie I quite like, it entertains in the poor acting and stupid dialogue.

It was over hyped by people saying it depicts degrading imagery of women and could drive men to acts of the same depravity.

I do have to admit the rape scenes are depicted in a graphic nature, but its not quite hard core porn.

The actual murders only one disturbs most men (most women smile), is in the bathroom.

But is the film really as bad as it is made out? The screams have more of an effect during the rape scenes and the actual scenes of the rapists dieing arn't even that graphic.

If you consider that this year Rockstar anounced "Bully" a computer game and within 24 hours there was certain members of the general public calling for the game to be band? Without seeing the game or knowing its content they were ready to fight the good fight.

I believe in the same year there was a film released where 2 women got raped, a man was bit on the groin by a cannibal, around 8 people died, Naomi Cambell got naked (completely) and there was on screen sex at least on 3 occasions other than rape.

The name of the movie was Quest for Fire it was about neanderthal man and certainly was on par with the rape scenes, the deaths was more graphic in most cases and the film recieved critical acclaim and a PG certificate.
