Beyond The Pale

I just finished this book. It's supposed to be a vampire romance novel. I found it to be enjoyable except for the fact that it revolves around an attempted post 9/11 attack. The plot IS interesting though. A good read for all vampire fans. Just try to ignore the Anne Rice rip-offs, with character names such as Louis and Lestat.

I'm going to be as honest as I can be about this book. I actually liked the idea that it stated the events of 9/11 in order to make it feel more real to the reader, and further demonstrate the effects of what could happen if this next attack would occur. However, the Anne Rice rip-offs did get to me and made me rather upset. Not only did they mention Marius (switched the M to a D, clever) but Luis and Lestat as well. I suppose that it would be alright if the vampires shared the same characteristics, but turning into an angelic bat (however you want to describe it) was a little hard for me to imagine and not true to Anne Rice's beloved vampires. The plot kept me interested, and the author didn't shy away from detailed sexual activity. I finished it in one day, being as I couldn't put it down. With horror, action, romance, drama, and even humor, this book was wonderful. I would recommend it to anyone who likes vampires, and I personally can't wait to see what else this author has in store for The Darkwing Chronicles.

Beyond the Pale by Savanna Russe

There are books that I usually enjoy and then books that I can't put down. While this one isn't one that I couldn't put down it was very enjoyable.
I felt with Daphy all the emotions of her grief, happiness and confusion while dealing with her Mother, stuck in the 70's coot, a stuck up pain in the butt military boss and the love of her life that hates her.
I loved it and can't wait untill the next book is out.
