another camera question
any advice on what is the best medium to use for recording? what I want want to do is hook up what ever camera i'm using to my computer for editing. and I want to be able to keep a hard copy of the original shots. should I use one that holds info on a memory stick, dvd-r, vhs, or mini vhs? any ideas?

I would suggest dvd, and maybe some actual tape formats just to have on hand. but for strictly archiving I'd go dvd. Magnetic media can have problems over time.

I don't know that you can re-use a DVD-R, and reusing would probably come in handy. On the other hand, you can't accidentally record over a DVD-R. On yet another hand, you could always bust the tab off the tape if you want to keep it safe from recording.
So, I'd go with a digital mini-tape type thing.
