Garden of Love (2003)
>>: C- Indigenous (2014) >>: C Insidious: Chapter 3 (2015) It started slowly. Jump scares were occasional, there was no rush for it. Writer Leigh Whannell in his directorial debut, kept it simple with finely constructed narrative. But the best part was the way he carefully injected emotional & moving contents into some of the characters & their dialogs about losing & missing the loved ones. But I thought Dermot Mulroney's character as the father of 2 young children deserved little more attention in that area particularly. Overall, pretty good; decently creepy & entertaining. The best in the series, IMO; as I'm not a big fan of the earlier 2 'chapters'. >>: B+

I actually liked this movie though I had doubts for the longest time about even attempting to watch the first. This one went a step further in the 'extreme cinema' direction, but not to the point that I refused to watch it. Overall, I enjoyed it. Insidious.jpg I wasn't entirely impressed with this one, but that could just be my overly picky nature when it comes to horror movies and whether I think they should be defined as a horror movie or not. |

If not horror, what would you call it then? Drama?

A dark fairytale that's got too much of an adolescent audience in mind. I'm speaking about, so as not to spoil, where the two characters go. That part is bordering on silly and lazy directing.

Yeah , I'm with the Boss. I didn't care at all for that particular turn. I felt a little cheated, considering how much I enjoyed it up until that point.

Am I the only one that thought the last 30 minutes was the best part?

Insidious is better after you watch the second one. At least in my opinion ^^;
It closes some loose ends and throws in a bit of murder mystery. I thought it was entertaining. Not ''scary'' per-say, but enjoyable.

Garden of Love is my favorite Olaf Ittenbach film..ever. The FX gore is absolutely amazing. The scene of the guy crawling up the stairs is cringe worthy. Sorry you didn't like it much. He is my favorite German Splatter director. Give House of Blood aka Chain Reaction or The Burning Moon a watch. : )
