The esteemed author said it was "a combination of the two." One being his own poor spelling, the other being Amazon. Since Amazon doesn't even look at the ebooks people self-publish on their site, trying to implicate them, even partially, in the poor spelling and punctuation of one's manuscript, is less than truthful.

Neverending, it seems you have me mixed up with the author who started this thread. I haven't read the book that Geek is talking about. So, I cannot testify to problems with Frantic-Ghost's ebook. Rather, I was remarking about ebooks more generally.
I was only sharing my experience with how the process works. I was not excusing bad grammar and spelling in ebooks. Anyone who finds problems with my ebook or the print version should place the blame squarely on me. I was remarking that the file conversion from PDF to MOBI sometimes makes the end product look different from the original PDF. So, where there are typos in a Kindle ebook, some of those could be a product of that conversion (i.e. line breaks, punctuation, etc sometimes look different in the Mobi format than in the original PDF format). That's why it is important for authors to download their ebooks to fix problems stemming from the file conversion; and it is not something one should blame on Amazon. Of course, one cannot pin all of the typos one sees in some ebooks on the conversion process. Where one finds problems with formatting and punctuation in ebooks, it is probably a combination of problems, as I remarked. Though, spelling and grammar problems usually stem from problems with spelling and grammar in the original file. Anyways, nice to make your acquaintance. I hope this clears the air. Nick |

You know there are several good ebooks on how to properly format a file for Kindle. Some are even free.

As I'm clearly really thick I've posted on the wrong thread.
Can I just clear up, neither Matt Drabble nor Ntillemans are arrogant. I have posted on the wrong thread. Please disregard any negative comment here from me. Try out the book as it is worth the read. Sorry!
