Hey there! I'm a horror fan since a young age but I never went too deep into the horror history. I totally love Sci-Fi with horror elements, Psychological Horror, Gothic Horror and all kind of horror that isn't too cliche.

Actually I registered at this forum to get more information and data for my current university project. I'm a young designer and scientific illustrator who is working on a "Horror Tool".
This tool should give basic information and explanations about the fear genre (Horror, Thriller, Dystopy, Mystery & Suspense, Sci-Fi, ...) and also help all kind of people to build horror elements by themselves. As horror story, movie, advertisement, product, illustration, showplace, or whatever you can think of. :)

Some people just want to draw at example a horror comic, but don't know how to make a working story concept + have problems with the visualization (how can I build suspense in pictures? If I use color, what is creating a scary image? And how about my characters? ... ).
What are the current trends in horror? How have the genres developed over time and how are they developing now? And so on...
Currently I plan to build the whole thing as a website. I want it to be for free and I want it to represent the different genres and just be a fun experience to use.

You would really help me out by answering my current survey about horror and the whole fear genre. It's written very basic because I also ask people who know nothing about horror genres at all. ("Gore? Who is that?")
