Same. I think Private Ryan was a bit over-hyped. Still, it ranks high in the IMDB top 250...so here it is.

Requiem was alright but IMO not as good as people tout it to be. It certainly didn't revolutionize a genre the way Night of the Living Dead did and to be honest, I like Pi better. NotLD for me.

That's too bad. I look at King Kong (1933) as having still some of the most brilliantly inventive effects of all time. In the context of its time, its lightyears ahead of anything else. And it was a hell of a lot more difficult than slapping CGI on something.
Anyway, I still salute the effects.
