Uwe Boll is working on yet another video game movie adaptation - this time, it's Gas Powered Games' bestseller "Dungeon Siege". Boll will direct and executive produce the $50 million budgeted movie. The script is due to be finished by next June, with filming taking place in the fall for a 2005 release.
The game follows the adventures of a farm girl who becomes a hero. Boll describes his movie as "The Lord of the Rings" meets "Braveheart." In spring, he begins shooting "BloodRayne" - another video game adaptation, this one a horror film described as a female vampire revenge story.
The director sees video-game adaptations as a category unto themselves. "I think video games are basically genre movies," Boll said. "A comic book has great characters, but a video game shows you the action."
