Britain's Channel 4 is set to release its list of Top 50 scariest scenes. The network had experts pull together a long list of cinematic terror, then BBC viewers were polled over a number of weeks to decide the 50 most frightening.
Two movies on the list - The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (original) and The Evil Dead - were banned in Britain at the time of their release. The oldest movie in the list is Nosferatu, from 1922, which came in at #38 in the list.
The Top 10 are:
- The Shining (1980) - Jack Nicholson chops through the door and shouts "Here's Johnny!"
