George A. Romero's "Land of the Dead" will be distributed by Universal Pictures.

Two months ago, Atmosphere Entertainment MM announced that "Land of the Dead" would be the first film to launch a new series of zombie films, marking Romero's return to the genre he created.
Story of "Land of the Dead" is set in the modern world. The living inhabit a walled-in city, protected from the walking dead that populate the wasteland beyond.

I read the script and honestly, it kicks serious butt !! There are a couple of great surprises which I cross my fingers for will look good on the screen. I'm a die-hard fan of the trilogy and I'm anxiously awaiting this one. Romero has lost none of his writing talents, that's for sure. ;-)

As a diehard fan of Romero's zombie classics personally I must say that after what Iv'e read recently Im no longer anticipating his newest project if in fact his zombies are going to run, disappear at will, or deviate drastically from his previous and legendary trademark zombie films. Romero was reportedly offering up praise to the film 'House Of The Dead' which IMO was far below Romero's standard of film-making. As well since Im on the subject, the film "Dawn Of The Dead" 2004, while it wasnt a bad horror film, it didnt hold a candle to Romeros classic, let alone should it have had the title of the original masterpiece. Just My 2 cents
