Los Angeles Zombie-Walk
THE DEAD WALK! The streets of metropolitan Los Angeles have been overrun by the undead! The recent rise of popularity of “zombie” books, movies, television shows, publications, toys and other collectibles all seemed to be fantasy-based…or were they?
Local cemeteries have been unearthed with dirt and slime-ridden trails all leading to one very famous location in Downtown Los Angeles. News reports coming in from all throughout the Southern California area are describing corpses actually crawling out from regional washes, lakes and even underneath building foundations.
It appears that all of these walking dead “creatures” are headed toward one direction – Downtown Los Angeles, in and around the Staples Center and Los Angeles Convention Center.
Officials have turned toward one local organization, the “Southern California Zombie Walk” for guidance and information. According to the official Southern California Zombie website, the zombies are actually congregating in Los Angeles to partake in their next “zombie walk” set for April 18, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. The Southern California Zombie Walk will make it’s fourth official “walk” on the side walks surrounding the Los Angeles Convention Center as it teams up with Creation Entertainment’s Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors in promotion of the horror-based tradeshow taking place at the Convention Center the same weekend.
It is quite fitting that the living dead have gathered around the Convention Center as Fangoria’s Weekend of Horror’s (a horror-based publication convention) is present with vendors, exhibits and celebrities all focused around the horror genre.
The site will certainly be one to behold – hundreds, if not thousands of members of the undead walking, moaning, groaning and apparently very interested in brains!
