Quote:
My favorite 80s slasher flicks were Friday the 13th Part III (1982) throughout Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason takes Manhattan (1989) I also really enjoyed some of those late 1990s - early 2000s slasher films, SCREAM trilogy, I liked. (Uhm, SCREAM 3 sucked though kind of) I really liked Freddy Vs. Jason, but I agree that Jason X was ridiculous. I mean crossing Science fiction with a modern day slasher icon like Jason is just pushing it. The Halloween franchise was a franchise I rarely seen when I was growing up, and the first Halloween film I ever watched was Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers (1988) and that movie just freaked me out! I was 12 at the time... |

I Sometimes do ... or often talk about franchise horror when I'm dealing with slasher films.
Friday the 13th: Either Part VI: Jason Lives or the 2009 Reboot or Freddy Vs. Jason. A Nightmare On Elm Street: The first one (1984 - Loved Johnny Depp's Death, brootal), and 3: Dream Warriors. (1987) Halloween: Either Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers or Rob Zombie's Halloween and Rob Zombie's Halloween II (1988, 2007 & 2009) The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: Either Number Two (1986) or the 2003 Reboot. SAW: (Although not a typical slasher film; still Franchise) I'd say SAW I (2004) or SAW VI (2009 - Although it was the lowest grossing movie of the franchise with a little over $62 million in ticket box sales) Last edited by iSeymore; 04-03-2010 at 07:04 AM. Reason: Made a mistake on the year of the reboot by accident. |

I was going to post in this thread, with a smartass remark. But after seeing that this thread has been recovered from the vault of old threads, I really feel no need in posting anything further, with the exception that my list of favorite slasher films is a bit different. I've gained love for other slashers, and changed my mind about others that I liked a few years ago.
This thread pretty much sums up most of the good slashers. |
