Terry Gilliam's greatest film. A true cinematic masterpiece of absurdist wit, social satire with an underbelly of something truly sinister.
Rent it immediately but avoid the "Love conquers all" version. It was re-edited by the producer Sid Sheinberg who quite literally hated Gilliam's film and chopped it up into a different (and terrible) film. and Urge ******spolier***** it might be perfect for the desert isle thing - it's a flick where the only possible happy ending is escape into madness
