i hate admitting this - and its too bad i wasn't around when it was probably a hot topic here ..

but that movie rattled me ..

it hit me in such a primal way it was crazy.

when i was a kid i had reoccuring dreams about a giant monster rampaging through my home town - and no matter how small i was - no matter where i hid - the bastard would find me.

Cloverfield awake the night horrors i had for the 1st time in 42 years ..

at the end i was physically, emotionally, and mentally exhausted.
so much so that when i went to use an ATM to pay for parking, i tried my work access pass in the machine. (until i saw Chris laughing at me)

the flick was the closest thing to virtual reality i've ever experienced.

Think it had a brief run round Jan but I missed out on it, but I'll keep an eye out for it on DVD

After watching "The Mist" last night, I think it ranks right up there as "Most Effed-up Endings" ever.

Yep. I honestly believe that the people that bitch about the ending just simply could not handle it. Ditto with 'No Country'.

Exactly. And I have no problem with the fact that someone couldn't handle it- certain images disturb certain people for certain reasons; and this was a terrifying situation to display and execute.
I admired the fact that you were forthcoming in the difficulty you had in watching it as opposed to the people I've been hearing say that it was a "cop-out" or a "cheap shot".
