Hello Gojira. I agree with everybody having their own opinion.

Saying that Halloween or TCM aren't even good horror movies I think is absurd.

I am 17 and no one has ever told me which horror movies to like. I love all kinds of horror. Obviously by the avatar I am a Halloween fan. IMO I think it is the best horror movie ever. It has set the bar for slashers. Sure there was Norman Bates, or Leatherface, but the slashers copied Myers more than anybody. He has a cool feel and great style. The movie had a great feel and a fantastic music score.

I don't think Tcm or the Excorcist should get so much praise as they do but none the less, Two very awesome horror movies.

No offence, and it is probably just me, but It seems you think it is the coolest thing in the world to like these old ass movies and criticize popular movies that(obviously)are popular becuase they were great movies. Everybody has their own opinion though and I respect that, I'm just saying credit should be given when it is due, Halloween,TCM,NOTLD,Excorcist(which I agree with you on it) totally should be given credit.

Hi Nemesis I dont think all old horror movies are better than most current horror movies. I think Mary Shelleys Frankenstien movie in 1994 is a far better Frankenstien movie than Universals 1931 version with Karloff and ColinClive. What I like are just very well made horror movies that will pass the test of time in the future and I like those movies that have passed the test of time. I think everyone does. When I was 17 back in 1978 I saw Halloween and it is by far one of the best thriller movies I have seen that Jaws and Psycho are all great thrillers imo. I remember going to see the Exorcist back in 1973 it was a very good horror movie it was not scary but it did have a few disturbing scenes in the movie. I liked it. I prefer the Omen over the Exorcist anyday. The Omen rules! If you want to talk slashers the ultimate slasher in a movie is Gigan. Gigan is a giant cyborg monster who has 2 giant hooks for hands and he can slash through buildings and anything else he likes. I would rather watch a good Werewolf movie than watch a Jason Freddy or Myers movie. I think a Werewolf movie has more substance and a Werewolf will just rip you to bits without the aid of a weapon. One movie I would like to see is the remake of TCM. I saw TCM in 1974 and what a jip that was. The title is Texas Chainsaw Massacre yet there no Massacre just a guy who motions like he is cutting but you can see he isnt. The movie just gets worse. I think I clapped when it ended because it ended. And I was at a Drive in LOL. Well I hope the remake is better.

After reading that Gojira.....I must say that I see where you are coming from. I had seen the Exorcist with my granparents but maybe a year ago and I laughed, I mean people fainting and saying how bad it was, I LAUGHED. I didn't hysterically laugh but I mean I don't care WHAT year it was(i get that alot, how ppl say it was bc of the year it was so scary) I also prefer the omen that is a badass movie I love it.

I however do prefer the 1931 version of Frankenstein a little more. Frankenstein is my 2nd only to Myers.

I like werewolf movies as do you. Everybody on here loves to knock on TCM remake. I have a feeling you won't like it but I did very much. Everybody says it is nothing like the original....but then again I will agree(while I liked it) it wasn't what people make it to be. So I guess we shall see what your thoughts are on it.

And yeah your're pretty cool lol.

P.s I also think Chris Lee was the best Dracula, besides Bela Indeed.

Take NOTLD in 1968 I saw it at the drive in back then and I thought it was a movie about drunks staggering around. and in 1980 the movie The Shining almost board me to death.. I think some fans expect a certain level of entertainment.
You, sir, are a cinematic idiot! The Shining is a very entertaining movie. Just the camera work itself is entertaining for fuck sake. The deliberate pace builds up the tension which boils over in the famous hedge maze scene. It's the best horror movie ever made, with possibly the best character ever in Jack Torrance(with honorable mention to Ash).

Be gone !

even the opening credits .. i remember seeeing it in the theatre like it was yesterday ... the camera running with the car heading up the mountains .. then veering off over the edge .. sent my stomach into my throat ...
It set the pace for the rest of the film

So who cares that you fell asleep watching the Shining it was a boring ass movie, if you want a movie that will keep you awake it would be the newest Shining the one that Stephen King did.

In fact, you are who I was responding to.

LOL. That is by far the dumbest thing I've read on these boards. Saying you don't care for The Shining is okay, if not questionable, but to put that slop from King ahead of it...wow... your credibility is just shit.

It's obvious to me that if you think Kubrick's version is boring, you're not a fan of great movies. Maybe you're too young to appreciate anything that isn't edited like a McG movie or video. The slow pace is what makes it great.
