On a more serious note, Leatherface didn't die, actor Gunnar Hansen died of pancreatic cancer. He majored in English and mathematics as an undergraduate, and then went to graduate school in Scandinavian Studies and English. He was a writer, actor and taught college as an adjunct instructor. Wrote film scripts, and wrote and directed documentary films.

I wanted to meet him so bad. I was going to go to Rock and Shock one year when he was there but something came up and I didn't get to.

R.I.P. Gunnar Hansen

Gunnar Hansen passed away on Nov. 7 at 68 years old.

While most of us might have seen his other films like Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers and Mosquito, most know him for his role as Leatherface in the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I had the pleasure of meeting him once at an event and he was very pleasant, funny, and told some great stories about his experience on that film ( also talked some shit about Paul Partain lol ).

He created one of the most iconic and memorable killers in horror history, often imitated, but never duplicated, and he will be missed.

Don't know if this is the right forum for this, but I just found out and had to say something, and I figured this was a good place. I'll be watching the original TCM and having a drink in his honor this evening.

Today is a sad day indeed. I am going to watch TCM before Walking Dead tonight.

For future reference we have a RIP thread for celebrity deaths.

RIP. The dude was a real gent. Had a chance to meet him twice and really enjoyed that. He was bright and insanely well read. We didn't talk about horror, we talked about books. This nerd loved every second of those way too brief conversations. Fond memories.

His death is a loss for horror fans and the planet. Adios, big dude, and thank you.

Hmm. If we caused his death by voting him out of the tournament, couldn't we bring him back to life by allowing him back in??!!

I mean, in theory. Yeah?

I loved me some Gunnar Hansen. I bet yesterday there was an all time high mark for people watching TCM. I was among them, naturally.
