The Writer's Cafe stories are workshopped things, but all the rest is four, five hundred word stories. I decided to take a break from all the novellas I'm typing up and revising and go back to some shorts and poems.

Hey thanks for the advice on getting a publisher for my poems, Doc Faustus. Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I don't get discouraged easily, and I am prepared that my poems may never see print, but I am hopeful that someday, they just might. Some people die, before they make the best seller list and their book makes them famous, I however, will not be one of those, I plan to be famous first, then die with a best seller under my belt, first, ha ha!! Only time will tell, we'll see what happens. Take care and thanks again for the advice, I will definitely keep it in mind!!

Glad to help. The work I've been doing on Writer's Cafe has made me think about doing a book of poems, but I'd like to get them illustrated. I had all these grisly poems I've been working on and one I wrote yesterday that I thought might be cool in a nice little book.

That's great!! In High School, I took creative writing. I loved it because we were given topics to write about. Since I have no topics, I have writers block now and it's bad!! We had to think of a pen name that only the teacher and the student would know, that way when we handed in the poem to be read aloud, no one knew who wrote it, therefore they could not be ridiculed. Our pen names had to be a real name and the last name a descriptive word for your writing. I chose Maggie Sorrows, because all my poems were deeply depressing. If I ever get published, I just might keep that, so watch out for me, someday I may be famous!! Good luck with your poems. If you ever get your poems published let me know, I would love to read them.

Great! As you can see by the 1,000,000th place Amazon ranking, I can use all the readers I can get. I'm glad HDC's been supportive of this crazy, crazy book.

GC - I finished your book and I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it (which actually means a lot; I have SERIOUS reading ADD and if I can't get into a book, it gets put down immediately).

Doc creates a vivid and macabre world of the gothic, the grotesque, and the surreal. It's a look inside a serial killer stuck in a society crazed by killings and death. He invents a whole new pop culture ("Reap Culture") in which famous killers are revered and have become a part of society.

You can buy it on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Murderland-Par...2101650&sr=8-2

DO IT. It's a good read.

I have only two pieces of criticism:
  • This has been mentioned before, but sometimes the editing is a little sketchy (not YOUR fault - This is what editors are for). But, honestly, since this is told through stream of consciousness, it's not that big a deal.
  • Jeremy's diary entry - I LOVE the insight into his diary, but the language that he uses at 15 (especially since the diary entry starts with him questioning the meaning of a 5-dollar word) seems a little unbelievable. I'd expect the 15-year-old Jeremy voice and tone to be different than our present-day narrator. That being said, I wish that there were more diary entries. I want more. MORE.

Anyway. The last page of the book advertises Murderland Part II: Any idea when that'll be available?

Also - I should probably mail the book over to sign before you get too important for the little people. ;) You won't be offended if the cover's a little bent and has kitten bite marks on it, would you?

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it and I look forward to signing your copy. As for the condition, I have one copy of my own that my girlfriend carried in her purse for three weeks out of love and pride that has nonetheless come to look like it has been carried in a purse for three weeks. Murderland Part 2 can be expected in December or January, and hopefully I can come full circle and have Part 3 out for July, capping off the initial trilogy. Right now, I'm working on the 4th one.
