i liked exorcist never scared me, i think it gets over rated as a scary movie, just a good horror movie.

You cant just judge a horror movie on its fright capabilities. Everyone seems to do this with The Exorcist. What makes it so good and what makes it so frightening is that the movie really pulls you in. The story, the acting, the whole entire feel of the movie adds to the drama of what you are seeing and makes you feel like you're a part of it. I think that's where the fear comes in and even though i was never scared i loved the movie.

I saw it in the theater when it came out (I was about 13 - same age as Linda Blair) - and it scared the bejesus out of me!

I remember reading that when it first came out, people fainted, vomited and ran out of the theater. Any of that happen when you saw it? ;)

that's what i am saying, people watch it and expect the movie to terrify them, i love the movie aswell, but i never watched it expecting it to terrify me.i found it scary in other ways, and the movie was very daring for the time it was made. alot of youths watch it today expecting it to terrify them, then moan saying it is rubbish that it did not scare them, which realy anoys me, it's a good horror movie with a very good story.when i first watched it i found it very shocking, i had never heard language with swearing like that before, and the blasphimy which is mainly why it got banned, i dont know why cus it's good vs evil and good wins.my wife hates the movie it unsettles her and scares her, so i think if u get into the story and if u believe in heaven and hell it can be a very scary movie.

My earliest horror memory is of throwing my My Buddy doll into the basement after watching Childs Play.
