i think it was a bad creative decision to have geller dress in the same out fit as her Daphne character from Scooby Doo

..

The grudge scared the shit out of me. There wasn't much character development, and the acting kind of blew but those shock scenes really get inside my head.

If I can quote myself (and this is a silly thing I sometimes say, but I believe it):

"Drama is the basis of all good entertainment, and Horror is Drama amplified."

And I'll quote a friend of mine, who in turn was quoting one of his professors when he said:

"Humor and horror are two sides of the same coin. If a guy slips on a banana peel, it's funny. If he slips on a banana peel and cracks his skull open, it's horror."

seriously though .. any kids cartoon .. think of tweety and sylvester ...
if there was blood everytime someone got hurt they would be the goriest horror movies of all times ..

groning certainly recognized it and wrote Itchy and Scratchy into the simpsons .. to be realistic.

Not an origional idea mind you .. i have a really old National Lampoon with the same thing .. a tom and jerry style cartoon where the violence ends in bloody dismemberment and death... even worse than itchy and scratchy

I think Monty Python is a great example of the two genres combined. Maybe not so much horror but definitely violence and comedy i.e. the Holy Grail [ its just a flesh wound ] or the skit in the park with the tennis racket.....and many others.
