which "original?" There's the one that was theatrically released in Japan, it has a commercial DVD release here (US) now. But there was also the TV-movie that was in Japan. You can get it on Ebay if you're in the states, I don't know how wide a release it got on DVD outside Japan. From what I hear, the TV-movie is far better

I've seen the original Grudge (which is titled Ju-On.) and I have to say that the remake is far better as far as "jump" scences and gore, while the original, in a way, explains the plot of the story a whole lot better. All in all though I liked the remake better.

They're both about the same, both good. The American one is really the same...save for a large buget...and Americans of course >.>;;.

i saw the origional Grundge.

I think it was pre-Nirvana. But definately from Seattle.

Or maybe Minniapolos.. home to not only Prince, but also Soul Asylum. They were pretty Grundgy. (before Pirner started seeing Winona Ryder and the band went 'pussy'

ahhh how i miss the origional Grundge days.

in a fashion sense .. most definately.

if you want to check out Soul Asylum when they were good, get Clam Dip and Other Favorites (the one with the mock up 'herb alperta and the Tijuana bras : whipped cream and other delights' cover)

or Hang Time
