LOL Classic your cracking me up Hammer in 1958 made a a Dracula movie with Cushing and Lee titled Dracula. When the movie came to America the movie poster was retitled Horror of Dracula Hammer did this as not to have fans confused with the 1931 Lugosi movie. Btw it was a remake Hammer bought the rights of Dracula from Universal along with frankenstien Mummy Wolfman Phantom Hunchback. Universal was hurting for money so Hammer bought the rights of several of Universals horror movie characters in 1958 Hammer remade Dracula and advertised it as horror of Dracula in the USA.

Classic the 1992 Bram Stokers Dracula of course is a remake hell Count Dracula with Bela Lugosi was a Dracula remake in 1931. The very 1st Dracula movie was made in Russia in 1920. The 1st remake was made in Hungry in 1921 titled Drakula with Paul Askonas as Dracula. Then in Germany Prana studios wanted to make a Dracula movie but Florence Stoker Bram Stokers widdow threatend to sue if Prana did not change the title of the movie so they did to Nosferatu. Nosferatu was an almost Dracula movie. Then 9 years later Universal bought the rights of Dracula from Florence Stoker and then remade Dracula. All Dracula movie after 1920 are remakes. IMO the best Dracula remakes are Horror of Dracula 1958 and Bram Stokers Dracula in 1992.

That was mind boggling, which was/wasnt a remake of what...I think I figured it out though:p

Im very split on the subject of remakes. Some are complete shit, but on the other hand. my favourite horror movie of all time is a remake [House on Haunted Hill]

I think two remakes currently in the works are travestys. The Fog, and The Tingler. Why, why, why are people so damn money hungry!

I personally think the Suspria remake could be good, not sure...

I loved the original Fog, this one may be good....but knowing these directors nowadays it is going to suck......bad.

This is how I feel about remakes if there were no remakes movies like Dracula 1931 Lugosi and 1931 Frankenstien and 1932 Mummy movies would not exist. Some remakes are so good some fans think they are the originals. Some remakes arnt so good so you just have to see which movies you like.

50 remakes in 5 years is different from a couple in 10 years.
