No doubt. That would take the mystery out of a lot of horror flicks. |

Michael Myers wore a mask because he was ugly as hell. Well classic child Michael Myers looked normal, I guess he was just infatuated with hiding his own identity from the age of 6? Who knows?
John Carpenter's "Halloween" (1978); Michael Myers as a Child. Looks normal to me. Rob Zombie's "Halloween" (2007); Michael Myers as a Child. What a freak. Nuff said. >_>;; |

A bigger question is why can he survive being shot, several times, suffering all kinds of abuse and then falling out the window but still getting up and walking away? And that is just in the first movie!
My guess is that Michael knows he would not be half as scary without the mask. As for why the filmmakers did it, this about it this way. A movie with a killer running around is a thriller, put a creepy mask on him and it is a horror movie, end of story, masks are scary.

Well, without watching Rob Zombie's Halloween (2007), my guess is that he wears that old mask because he is very self concience about his physical appearence. Also, hiding his identity.
