It should fit the tone of the plot and the characters in the scene in which it's played. If I can picture a potential scene where it benefits to play pop music instead of traditional score- it can work.

I think the soundtrack usually messes up films...gimme a horror with no music in the background and I really hate my baddies coming out with witty banter, I want them without compromise, with no sense of humanity and I really hate them if they are portrayed as cool, for example, Interview with a vampire, Lost boys, anything to do with Buffy or Angel and Blade etc...

Clichéd metal soundtrack ... I prefer a film score for movies; the worst is a soundtrack that’s just there to sell cds and does not go with the movie!!!
S&M techno clubs in movies especially vampire ones its just plain silly.... and not in a good way!!! Too much CGI good or bad it starts to feel like a video game!! Nakedness and sex for the sake of it ... dicks, tits whatever you can look it up on the internet if you want it! ... I don't mind if it fits in with the story though Jessica Biel and he shit tcm remake performance ... running around like it’s a shampoo add, going oh look at me!!!!!!

I agree about the music thing I always like scores like the stuff Harry Manfredini did in Friday The 13th stuff, The Halloween score and of course the stuff by Goblin.
I mean I love metal but it just doesn't fit the mood in horror movies imo.

I'll tell you what kills a horror film. When you got annoying fukcing kids interfering with an important battle between two horror icons. As they interfere they distract the one horror icon who is kicking the living sh!t out of the horror icon, so the other horror icon can win!!!!
I'm sorry. I guess I never got over Freddy vs. Jason.:D

There were some additional characters, but at what point were they interfering?
I mean, if you want a fight between two supernatural characters and no story to speak of....go play mortal kombat or something... Besides, you're wrong - the "annoying fucking kids" if anything, only facilitated the fight and the reasons behind it. Can I ask something, #1? are you more a fan of the f13 or NOES series?

A bad plot is always..well...bad...
I do think there is sucha thing as TOO MUCH sex in movies though, i mean what the fuck has that got to do with some dumb bitch getting slaughtered, i mean other than the fact that then she drags her fuck buddy down with her....
