Things appear to be (ahem!) calming down here a bit, after such a long time of....of, whatever....

You see that picture up there, of the Gill Man poster...you see, that's the problem with kids today...they don't have things like that in their breakfast cereal boxes. If we gave them things like that to have fun with, they would be more balanced.

I've done that! Yeah, it's a weird way to wake up.

remember the days when all cereal packets had little toys in them..?
How we would rip open the packs and tip all the contents out...
after retrieving the toy we would scrape all the cereal back into the box..even the stuff that spilled onto the floor :p

Now the closest thing to a toy you get in cereal is a watch or those tickets for free movie tickets. Funny story, slightly off topic: few weeks ago my bf was reading a cereal box and went "ha! free adult movie?" but it was for a free movie ticket for an adult.

I also like to cut potatoes jardiniere style, throw on some smokey paprika and a very small amount of salt, and pan fry them in light olive or canola oil until golden. It's something a little like fries, but not quite. You can eat it on its own, or makes a fine addition to an omelette.

Something not mentioned a lot I've noticed in here, one of my favourites...
Fresh fruit, varied-grain toasted muesli, and vanilla yhogurt, with a little cinnamon on top.

One time, I had a mango Lassi for breakfast, nothing else. Really, it picked me up somewhat. I mean...it was after an allnight out, and at about 11am the next day, but yeah...when you've got a dry throat and you're feeling kinda underslept and dazed, a mango lassi sure goes down well. mmmm....now I want one.

Oh, I have vanilla yogurt with strawberries, blueberries and chopped peanuts from time to time...

Now I want THAT...Thanks...

I don't think I'd care for it with cinnamon though

I'd usually go with mango, apple, sultanas, peach or all...I guess cinnamon might work for those a little better.
Not blueberries though, can't ever have those...and they're so tasty, I think about just buying a whole bunch and cooking all the blueberry dishes and cold preps that I feel like, and going to eat them up at the hospital....goddamn things...

Another thing I used to love...I suppose very easy to make, but there was a place near my old work that did them just right.
English muffins, with cheese and tomato (the cheese, just the right type, the tomato, just the right slice width, and just enough freshly cracked black pepper) inside, grilled in a foccaccia press.
I used to buy two of 'em for $3AUD, with a double macchiato before a day at work. Now that was a good breakfast. Might go back one day.

Also...has anyone mentioned cold (last nights) pizza?
Seems a lot of people either hate it or love it, I'm down with the love. Especially the thin base ones, 'cos the dough doesn't get all rock hard and fucked up like some pan bases would.
