that's the same thing i was thinking....Jason isn't a demon though...he is already dead and his face shows the results of what time has done to him...Michael has a face, which we have seen briefly in a few scenes. I wish they would stick with one actor though.

I haven't been a fan of horror my entire life, I've only really gotten into it the last 5 or 6 years or so. I saw Friday and Nightmare movies when I was younger (I'm 21 now) but they never really did anything for me, I thought they were more funny than scary. It was Halloween that really got me into Horror movies. I still remember the scene where Jamie Lee Curtis was calling for Tommy Doyle to open the door and watching Micheal just walk after her in the distance...that was the scene that did it for me, I have been hooked on horror ever since then. In time I've come to really appreciate all of the slasher movies, but for a long time I would accept nothing other than Halloween. I know that wasn't really on topic for why Micheal never dies. For that my answer is that he is pure evil. How can pure evil die? And I definatly feel the same way as Leslie, 1&2 were basically one great movie, and thats were i consider the true story to be over. the others are just wonderfully sweet desert.

I've discovered something about horror movies and thought I'd see what you guys thought about it. Horror movies aren't scary. They aren't meant to be. They are more for the entertainment of the horror in the movie, but not meant to install fear in you. That is where Thrillers and Suspense lie. They too have horror in them at times, but they are the ones that are all about scaring you. Horror movies on the other hand like the big three (Freddy, Jason, and Michael) are more about the horror part. Halloween does kind of straddle the fence a bit though with the mannerisms of Michael though, bringing a bit of suspense into it, but it is still more a horror movie than a suspense. That is my take on it, after seeing as many horror movies and thrillers as I have seen. They all seem to go by that formula.

EVERBODY ON THIS FORUM THAT I'VE ARGUED WITH ABOUT HALLOWEEN BEING THE BEST, OR HOW I HATE HELLRAISER WITH A PASSION, I'M SURE YOU NOTICE THAT THE ARGUEMENT GOES ON AND ON UNTIL THE PERSON CONCEEDS AND ADMITS THAT HALLOWEEN IS A CLASSIC HORROR FILM. AFTER YOU SAY THAT YOU CAN GO ON AND ON ABOUT HOW PINHEAD IS BETTER OR HOW YOU THINK MICHAEL IS BORING BUT UNTIL YOU SAY THAT HALLOWEEN IS A CLASSIC HORROR FILM I'M NOT GOING TO STOP DEFENDING WHAT I THINK IS THE BEST SLASHER GENRE FILM OF ALL-TIME NOT THE BEST HORROR MOVIE OF ALL-TIME BUT DEFINATELY THE BEST SLASHER FILM EVER. DON'T GET ME WRONG I THINK IT'S THE BEST MOVIE ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET EARTH EVER KNOWN TO MANKIND BUT I KNOW THAT IT'S NOT THERE'S TO MANY THINGS OUT THERE THAT HALLOWEEN CAN'T EVEN COMPETE WITH I HATE TO SAY THAT BUT IT'S TRUE.
dude, halloween IS a classic horror movie, cmon it's from 1978, it's normal that it isn't as scary as some other movies from 1990 or so
but I love it, the mask, the hair, the eyes, I love micheal, but I like the hellraiser movies better, even friday the 13th, don't ask me why, it's just like that

Someone said that Halloween is not "as scary as movies from 1990????? O my god, what movie from 1990 was scary?

I find it really really funny that people are arguing over opinions . Halloween is a classic, by the very definition. So is Citizen Kane, but I don't like it.

I will argue though that horror movies are just that "Horror". Dave you don't think The Thing was scary? How about The Exorcist or The Omen or The Shining? I have to disagree with you there.
