Letīs end this discussion now, before we both turn gay. LOL
Oh, what did I start? ;) I don't think all men that make it big have to have a certain body type. novakru brought up a good example; Adrien Brody is actually considered sexy (but I do actually get it). But in these two roles, Ryan Reynolds had to did have to have a certain look.

Well, he did for Blade Trinity correct? As Austin mentioned, you would expect a vampire hunter to be in pretty good shape. Or else he wouldn't survive very long. :D
In Amityville Horror....I don't know....but it seems like from what I have heard he had to be somewhat imposing.

Whateeever.

This subject is dead.

(BUT, my guess is that "Trinity" was filmed first and, like both of you said, he had to have a buff body because of his character. Then came "Amityville" and i guess he didnīt have to have a huge body for that role, but....... If youīve got a body like that, why would you wanna change it?) :D

Just a suggestion:
Go to your local comic book store and peruse a few Blade issues in the back issue bins, just so you can get a feel for it.Then see the movies.
2 dimensional characters look alot better on-screen,and it's SUPPPOSE to be a piece of fluff movie, have fun with it.
