Low budget film that paved the way for more to come in the trilogy. Black and white but remastered in color. Many "goofs" can be seen in this movie, but it is still ranked high in the Top Horror films.

The writer of this screenplay insisted that the movie be made in Maine. Writer is a very popular horror novelist. Very unexpected and horrific death in this movie in which they had to use a doll because the young actor who played this part, was not allowed to see such scenes, but he now admits that he did play with the doll of himself.

OK, here's a hard one. I'm a author who writes amazingly violent and gory stories. My problem is that lately I'm having trouble distinguishing between what is real and what are horrible hallucinations spawned by my bloody imagination.

Maybe one of our Canadian friends will get this one (*hint, hint*).

I'll be truly impressed if anybody gets it right.
