VAMPIRE CIRCUS (1972). Lots of praise for this late Hammer offering, but I found it extremely tedious throughout despite decent nudity, lots of blood, huge fangs and an off the charts Body count. Some good moments, to be sure, but lowering budgets over the years took their toll. **

the reason why
The reason you didn't notice the guy's expression in Fright Night is because there is nothing to notice. The guy doesn't emote at all.
I kind of wish that my local cable provider would include in the pay-per-view movies the original sequel to Fright Night, the one where the villainess is supposed to be the sister of the vampire in the first vampire. She's my type. "The great strength of the vampire is that people will not believe in him." Edward van Sloan as Van Helsing in Dracula. I am quoting from memory; I know I probably didn't get it right. |

Vampire Circus
In a little-known horror film magazine of the 1970s called Castle of Frankenstein, there was an amusing review of Vampire Circus. Let me see what I can remember...
"The vampire in this movie, Emil, has all the grace and poise of a rock-n-roll speed-freak drop-out. He has various powers, can change into a tiger, wolf, etc., but can't change his clothes." |
