i would just like to say this,i have been a member since about oct 2003, under one name or another, infact, under the name billbundix i was a small part of the freddyfan incident, although i just warned him to watch what he was saying. i saw what happened after the incident, and it wasnt too nice. it was in fact the reason i changed names a couple of times. in some ways i think we need to put it behind us, just let it go. and yet i think what darthvonpokemon says is true. it should stand as a warning to us all. we should not pretend it did not happen. but i do not know the best way to handle it. but one thing is for certain, we have good moderators, and im not sucking up, because i wouldnt waste the time to type this if i was, just look at my post number, i try not post frivilously, but i do truly appreciate your work. i havent been flamed in a long time. thank you.

did i ever say the mods didnt do a good job? of course theyve done their job dealing with bane and whoever else. but just like anything else, everyone makes mistakes.
yes i was here for the freddy fan thing. i DID join becuase of it and read quite a few of the pages of that thread. saw both 'its your guys fault' as well as 'thank you for saving the school' and when did i say i didnt like it here? i have. which is why ive stayed. just lately i see some crap that i dont think shuold go on. Bwinds thread getting deleted, eviscertaion getting banned (on accident, i guess) and Randall flagg still doesnt nkow why HE was banned.... then of course just the recent thing that i siad about. SUre you all are tired of hearing about it. But guess what, if its what happened its what happened and if people want to know abou it, if they are curious about it, then let them be. What is wrong with telling them the truth of what happened? WHen yuo sit there and say 'that was soo bad for the site i dont want to talk about it!" and lock up the thread, what is someone who wASNT there and who is wondering to think? like i said EARLIER, better to let them know the truth from US than to conceive something on their own eg.. these fools probably led them to it |

uh.... yeh. that was an example of over moderating. never did i say we should get rid of them, or that they do that all the time. just like there are faults with the government, or any institution, we point them out. but does that mean we dont think that they do a good job in general? perhaps that they just may need a little tweaking?...
and my point... that i have stressed over and over.. is the fact that yes, wihle the topic grows ever tiresome, fact is.. IT HAPPENED. is there not a difference between some fool who read the article way back when, came up with his own jackass theory without doing any HW, and then coming here to spew it onto you, as compared to just recently, when all the person did was simply ASK.. with no bias.. no harm intended, just wanting to nkow the truth....? THAT is what i didnt understand... |

this was my point...
freedom of speech, right? old members, new... we all have our preferences. some of us are fine with certain issues while some arent. i personally would love to see all the 'thank you' and 'goodbye' threads go, but just the sheer fact that they annoy me (and others, so ive read) is not reason to delete/lock them. the same goes with freddy fan. while it does bring pain among some of you (for what reasons, im not sure, perhaps this site means a lot more to some of u than it does to others), it is something that happened here. whether once a month, or once a year, it WILL be brought up again. whether out of curiosity or with bitterness, SOMEONE will bring it up and most likely ask a question about it we have always been free to talk abou what we want here. which is exactly why majority of 'general forum' is NON horror related. the forum is alive so something must be going right.. the second the freddyfan thread was locked, we were being dictated to about what we can and cannot speak about. the thread did not even have a CHANCE to get ugly, and if it had, then perhaps the situation would be different. THAT is the issue. this was not an argument as to the good/bad/ugly of freddy fan, we will all have our separate opinions on that. i really d ont givashit about that, i personally see it as a good thing since even though idiots came on blaming you guys, fact is, you guys SAVED him as well as others. i tihnk that outweighs any "yuo guys put him up to this. its all because of horror movies" etc that any strangers who didnt even bother to research couldve told any of you so i guess we are to assume that we cannot talk about 1) threatening the president 2) freddy fan. i can only wonder what else will be added onto that list.... and to clarify again, YES i do think the mods do a good job. there is a big difference between sayin 'clinton was a bad president' and 'clinton made some mistakes.' other than the freedom of speech issue, the only mistakes ive seen were deleting threads and banning wrong people, which were most likely accidents. which could be easily remedied simply by being more careful.... |
