Sometimes I look at kids channels today and pity the children...if it's not little (really poorly animated) toys scooting around, it's yet another pokemon clone, it's a poorly done remake of an earlier cartoon - or hey, if you watch nickelodeon, every damn cartoon seems just about the same.

Back in the day, I remember getting into a few of the following:
Mysterious cities of Gold
Silverhawks
Astro-Boy
The Robin Hood with the fox, I liked that.
Dr Katz
Rugrats
Felix the Cat
The Black Cauldron
Looney Toons was good until they decided to turn Daffy into Bugs' bitch.
Invader Zim was great while it lasted.
Robin.

...it's not all bad for the modern day, but you've got to get out of mainstream to really see anything good.

It's all about Bugs Bunny...Looney Tunes was alway my favourite cartoon growing up, and I still LOVE 'em today.

I really need to grab more of the DVDs - I only have the first Golden Collection and I've got the whole set just about memorized.

In my opinion......ANY GREAT, LEGEND-STATUS CARTOON WAS ONCE THAT WAS CREATED IN THE 1990s. Any one who grew up or raised a child between 1990 and 1999 you all know what I'm talking about.

Recess, Doug, Pinky & the Brain, Animaniacs, POKEMON!!!, PeperAnn, and the list goes on. :)

As far as shows that weren't really cartoons : RL Stine's Goosebumps and the ORIGINAL, (not the crappy rip-offs) of the MIGHTY MORPHIN POWER RANGERS!!:D

I miss the '90s. :(

I actually have my Top 10 list around on my comp somewhere for me to hunt them down and collect them (number one of course being the wolf with the baby billy goat- you know "Billy boy boy boy boy boy boy").
Any Chuck Jones Tom and Jerry is great. You can tell just by the artwork when they start if they were one of his productions or not. Other than that, any pre 1970s Woody Woodpecker. The 1967 Spiderman cartoons were fun, too, even if they weren't terrific.
Of course the king of all cartoons in my eyes is still Tex Avery. Sadly Ted Turner owns most of these old cartoons now and either edits them for political correctness or has just shelved them completely for content.
One of my happiest moments was when my oldest was about 2 and started cracking up when we were watching old Tom and Jerry since I knew she was blessed with a sense of humor (unlike her mother :D ). I wonder if there will even be any "funny" cartoons by the time she has kids of her own.

I loved Looney Tunes when it used to come on, that and Tom and Jerry were my favorites when I was a squirt. (after The Simpsons).

The only late 21st century cartoon that remains awesome is Family Guy in my opinion.
