nice, i was extremely surprised by how good the first film is. I rented it and thought the absolute worst. Let's hope it's rated R like the first and maintains it's close ties to the games. I'd love to see a much grittier version though. The first film looked fantastic but silent hill always has that a grain effect in the games that really helps in making the experience unsettling.

Silent Hill 2 movie posters and plot leak
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Silent Hill promo posters The second installment of the Silent Hill series leads an egocentric and fame driven Cincinnati journalist, author, and television personality named Darren Cartland, into Charleston, West Virginia, to work on a documentary about the nearby abandoned mining-turned-resort town of Silent Hill. He finds himself trapped inside of a rapidly closing, and shape shifting shopping mall with a mysterious young woman named Kara. The exits are mysteriously blocked with impenetrable, seemingly organic, mesh gates and a series of disturbing noises and muffled voices from an unknown section of the mall, first lead the two to face each other, and then sheer unimaginable terror. During the second act of the film, the transformed shopping mall acts as a gateway and forces Kara and Darren deep into the town of Silent Hill itself, in the search of Kara's true identity. Darren quickly learns that there is more to her past than she is letting on, and the town itself is holding a longstanding secret, forcing it to take on a life of its own, beyond any imaginings of a scorned child, and more like the power of a long dormant, now awakened malevolent force. One that will make them both confront what they for so long buried in the recesses of their subconscious minds, separately or together. Filming to begin spring of 2010. source link:http://s884.photobucket.com/albums/ac49/Davis_films/ Last edited by Davis.films; 11-24-2009 at 06:45 PM. |

It's all about the American Film Market this morning, a sinister, foggy side-street of which leads to Silent Hill 2, and its just-signed director Michael J. Bassett.
Silent Hill: Revelations, loosely based, like its predecessor, on the surreal horror videogame franchise, centres on the character of Heather Mason, a teenager who, on the eve of her eighteenth birthday, starts having nightmares that lead her towards the titular town, and the mystery involving her father's disappearance. Heather is a character from the third game in the series, a direct sequel to the first, set seventeen years later. She was the baby given over to the care of Harry, the first game's protagonist, at its conclusion, when the Silent Hill cult was - temporarily, it turned out - defeated. But with the first film playing so fast and loose with its source material, it's unclear as yet how close a fidelity the sequel will keep to the original story. The first Silent Hill's director Christophe Gans came to Silent Hill following the fantasy/horror actioner Brotherhood of the Wolf, and Bassett will be following a similar trajectory, arriving at the sequel fresh from this year's rather good Robert E Howard adaptation Solomon Kane. Will he aim to emulate Gans' mad, nightmarish visuals (definitely the film's strong point), or find a way to put his own stamp on proceedings whilst adhering to the thoroughly unsettling atmosphere of the games? Will Sean Bean return? Will there be nurses? Last we heard, Roger Avary had written the script (as he did first time around), and Samuel Hadida was producing. Their aim a year ago was to get Silent Hill 2 underway as soon as Resident Evil: Afterlife was finished with, so all seems to be going according to plan so far. Expect 3D.

Shooting was in full swing at Cherry Beach, east of Toronto, all during last week. The entire place was transformed into a twisted fairground with rabbits in bags, dead fish and demented rides in the Michael J. Bassett-directed Silent Hill: Revelation 3D.
Adelaide Clemens, Kit Harington, Sean Bean, Radha Mitchell, Deborah Kara Unger, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Malcolm McDowell all star. Some shots - ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes folks, Pyramidhead is BACK!

When I saw the scene in Evil Dead where Mia sees herself in the woods, I flashed back to the scene in SH:Revelations where Heather meets Alessa. They are eerily similar. Anyway, I enjoy this sequel, although its second half is rushed, and think it a nice companion to the first film.
