Actually really looking forward to this myself now, after hearing Rick Baker was going to be involved. I don't see how it can lose with all this talent going into it. Trying hard not to get my expectations too high though. But yeah, this could be outstanding. That's a great picture. :p |

Hey, this looks good, really good. Del Toro is the wolfman!
Check him out in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas as Dr Gonzo and tell me he wasn't born to play some crazed lycanthrope. |

even though i like it more on the wolf side: american werewolf in london/howling, i'm excited about the remake. but...
not sure about mark romanek as director. he's coming from making a butt load of music videos and that always scares me. on the other side he's like an indie film actor in that he's ready and eager. im happy that andrew kevin walker wrote the script. he's dabled in some dark stuff b/f: se7en, 8mm, tales from the crypt. not too familar w/ the producers though...

As much as he tries, this young man won't be as good as Lon Chaney Jr. I just hope he raises his standards of acting to fill those great boots, because the director's name and the script don't sound very encouraging.

Universal Studios has bumped their The Wolfman remake from November of 2008 to an undetermined 2009.
Like the 1941 original that starred Lon Chaney Jr., Mark Romanek's vision will be set in Victorian England. Benicio Del Toro will play a man who returns from America to his ancestral homeland, gets bitten by a werewolf and begins a hairy moonlight existence.

Source: MTV October 19, 2007 It's been rumored for a while, but now Sir Anthony Hopkins has confirmed that he will star opposite Benicio Del Toro in Universal's The Wolfman, scheduled for a February 13, 2009 release. "I'm going to do 'The Wolfman' with Benicio Del Toro," Hopkins told MTV during an interview for his upcoming movie, Slipstream. Hopkins will play Sir John Talbot, father to Del Toro's Lawrence Talbot, the character who becomes afflicted with the werewolf curse. Mark Romanek directs from a script by Andrew Kevin Walker. |
