I'd have to chose In Utero although I love their MTV unplugged album. Sends shivvers down my back sometimes cos the music is so good.

I always rate bands and their albums like this:

If you can listen to the whole album without even thinkin about skipping over one song then its a bloody good album - and these albums are few and far between. I could do this with any Nirvana album. The songs are brilliant - well written - sometimes simple but still effective. They were the nutz.

“I could catch a monkey. If I was starving I could. I’d make poison darts out of the poison of the deadly frogs. One milligram of that poison can kill a monkey. Or a man. Prick yourself and you’d be dead within a day. Or longer. Different frogs, different times.” - Gareth from The Office

“Life is just a series of peaks and troughs. And you don’t know whether you’re in a trough until you’re climbing out, or on a peak until you’re coming down. And that’s it you know, you never know what’s round the corner. But it’s all good. ‘If you want the rainbow, you’ve gotta put up with the rain.’ Do you know which philosopher said that? Dolly Parton. And people say she’s just a big pair of tits.” - David Brent

Wow, figures that horror fans would think Nirvana sucked. Judging by the music they listen too.

Nirvana is probably one of the reason, I love music so much. If a band like them never broke into the mainstream. A lot of great bands would have never been heard.

Like the Vaselines. They're an amazing band.

The 90's had a great scene for music and it's shitted on. But 90's had a lot more than anything going on right now.

My vote is "In Utero" but... Voting for a album is almost impossible.

However, I do disagree. I think Kurt Cobain was an OKAY lyricist. Not one of the best. That's Lou Reed, Bob Dylan, or someone else I'm not thinking of.
