Mouth of maddness

I am a big Lovecraft fan which is why it is so dissapointing when you get some of the crap for movies inspired by his work. Only with in the last ten years or so, have they started to get better. Dagon, and of course, the Stuart Gordon films, but, still...

You do know that Dagon is a Stuart Gordon film, right?

Now, I havent read a whole lot from ol' H.P., but what Ive read wouldn't translate very well to film at all. Can you imagine a movie based on the original "Dagon" story? First off, it would need to be a short film, and secondly...holy crap! Maybe in 10 years when CGI is more advanced, but there is no chance they could make that landscape look convincing. Ive been very content with the adaptions that Ive seen thusfar, in fact I consider Dagon one of my favourite films of all time. Dont belive me? Check the sig;)

i'm one of the other rare people who liked Dagon.
picked up an extremely cheap copy and was pleasantly suprised.

oftimes in horror a cast of unknows spells doom for the picture but it helped this film... it was in a foreign setting - everything was unknown ... and unpredictable.

i love movies with the 'there is no escape despite all your efforts' feel to them .. takes me back to the satanical conspiracy films from the 70's. total and utter helplessness.....

i thought it was well excecuted.

i havent read the lovecraft book it references.
