Some of my favorite bands are local bands that will never go anywhere(or have already disbanded ).

As far as "successful", my favorite band Reverend Horton Heat has never even had a gold album(due to lack of marketing by a major label) but sell-out most of thier shows and have a big cult following.I like a band like this that works for its success instead of relying on MTV to hand it to them.I feel they have more passion for the music.
OMG!!! Do you see this Wicked Lady? Someone who can *gasp* think for themselves...... OMG! SOME musician who is succesfull who is NOT on MTV!?!?! SURELY NOT!?!?!

But Chaplain, how can we buy their Shirts and Clothing lines at HOt Topic if they arent on MTV? I think your mistaken...

She said to tell you that she likes what she likes no matter what the bullshit behind it is...Only, she didn't say "bullshit", I did...

BTW...They sell Nine Inch Nails shirts at Hot Topic, too...Just in case YOU need another one ;)

LOL-Not to take sides in this debate, but I did actually ask Hot Topics about ordering some RHH t-shirts.They told me they had tried in the past(when RHH almost broke the "big time", thank god they didn't) and they couldn't sell them, therefore they could not order any in!I almost shit myself laughing when they told me this.If its not cool, Hot Topics just can't get it!

I have to point out there was a time in the 90's when you couldn't turn on MTV without seeing one of Trents videos.

hmmmm...I can recall only seeing Mest on MTV about four times in total (just two of their videos) and I've never seen Mushroom Head on there, and yet...our Hot Topic sells shirts of them:eek: isn't that amazing????

Forgive me i forgot the only music that exist is the "successful" musicians with multimillion dollar deals.....

Continue to gobble the products your fed....you are nothing but a number...
wow, it took you longer than I expected to yell at me about this one:rolleyes:

soooo....I guess you expect to get somewhere in you career by having FREE concerts? No matter what you do as a musician you have to feed on the money of your fans or you won't get ANYWHERE, and what about the price it will cost for people to buy your albums? would you rather they download them off the internet?

If you want to make this about money, face it, the world is ran by money and by the people that have that money.

so...you are ALWAYS selling yourself in the music industry, in the movie industry, or even at Wal*Mart, it just matters about who feels like paying for you.

Well i must say i like a lot of underground bands, but i must say i like some televised stuff like HIM, Queens of the Stone Age, The Killers, Jimi Hendrix, and so fourth.

But my theory is....if it sounds good i like it. I dont care if their on MTV, VH1, BET, Fuse, or on a local radio station.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Arioch, I don't wanna get you mad at me, but just one thought.
Just because YOU don't like Good Charlotte, Sum 41 or Blink 182 it doesn't actually mean they are bad at making music, or that they don't have FEELINGS.
I have the feeling you would be saying something similar to what Wicked Lady is saying if she didn't like a band you like for similar reasons.

:(
