It amazes me how you guys manage to put up a top 10 list. There are too many films I love, and for too many different reasons. I can say that for typical slashers, I highly enjoy the Sleepaway Camp trilogy. For modern films, The Descent, High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes, House of 1000 Corpses, and The Devil's Rejects are ones I adore. For horror-comedies, Evil Dead I & II, and for horror anthologies, the Creepshow trio. I highly respect the original Night of the Living Dead for what it entailed message-wise (I watched a doc. commenting on all of this, and how the events in the film pertained to the time period). For foreign horror, The Sympathy Trilogy from Park-Chan is among my favorite, and much from Takashi Miike. For real-scares, The Blair Witch Project. I could go on and on, there's no way someone as indecisive as myself could make a definitive top 10 list.

I had to search for this, quite an old thread, seemed like the "longest" top 10 thread so I read through this one over the ones with 15-20 posts in them.
1. The Shining 2. Hellraiser 3. Scream 4. A Nightmare on Elm Street 5. Sleepaway Camp 6. Alien 7. Ju- On 8. Dawn of the Dead (either) 9. Fright Night (My first vampire movie I ever watched!) 10. Halloween/ The Omen (tied) |
