Irreversible

hmmmm....tough one to watch....a couple of very brutal scenes.....that and the dizzying camera work in the first 3rd of the movie.

told in reverse......very compelling

give it a go...if you have the stomach for it

"Winter's Bone" 6/10

Finally a movie that shows the real american. Hostile as fuck. :D

Jennifer Lawrence. Never seen her before, but this girl has potential to become huge. In a movie where all actors involved gave their all, she managed to shine through. Bravo.

The Other Side (2006). Some talent simply cannot be held back. Made with a reported scant $15G, this low budget thriller made great purchase for director Greg Bishop's bid for funds on his next project. He was not to be denied. The Other Side is by no means a perfect flick, but for those interested in seeing the raw talent of a burgeoning director this is a great place to be. The story was solid, told with appropriate flair and humor. A tad religious at times, it was necessary for the story and to have made it less so would have been a weak compromise. With the budget in mind, the effects were decent enough, with no lack of blood flow. The acting was a mix of cringe-worthy pain and solid effort, but nothing so bad as to detract from the story. The puissance of direction is not to be checked, beaming through with talent that will surely find many more a project. In short, this was a low budget thriller housed in a shoddy body but with a hearty soul.

"Bandidas" (2006)
-Salma Hayek, Penelope Cruz

Plot: IMDB
In turn-of-the-century Mexico, two very different women become a bank-robbing duo in an effort to combat a ruthless enforcer terrorizing their town.

Phantom's Review: Silly, but fun light hearted western adventure.
The two stars are stunningly beautiful and have a good chemistry together.
The film is made for laughs with a few serious moments.

I watched this on the projector, last time I saw it was at a late night screening, I don't think I can go back to watching it on a tv.

9.9/10

The opening scene with Savini is awesome, but it falls away really fast. Shite acting and to many homages to the original just make you cringe.

1/10
