They changed him to Dent in the comics fairly shortly after he became popular as to not make readers think he was related to Clark Kent. So name-wise it did follow the current comics.

It was awsome on the big screen. The London landscapes were imposing. Didn't like them poaching Abeline for the story though. Think it was an attempt to merge myth and history which they didn't need to do. Anthony Hopkins overracted- but to me that was part of the film's charm

The Killing (1956). This Classic by Kubrick is a piece of film noir that stands apart from the rest. These shadowy characters are all found in the daylight, but shadows obscure their presence nonetheless. The nonlinear time line was a feature that has been copied as nauseum. The story was simple and tight, with all the usual aspects of the genre. The characters were a perfectly assembled squadron of citizens down on their luck, the perfect cast for the perfect caper. The performances were incredible, with above outstanding performances by Hayden, Windsor, Cook, and Carey. And that dialog, sublime. While the over voice was somewhat grating, its obtrusive presence somehow seems to add to and not detract from this classic. The direction here exemplifies the mastery of Kubrick. A tight woven classic clocking in at just under and hour and a half, this one is all screen-riveting meat and no filler. Merci beaucoup.

The Collector

This one confused me, I think I'm gonna have to watch it again, who's the collector? I looked a little on imdb and some where saying it was Arkin. I thought Arkin was the guy trying to help the family escape? What's everyone's opinion here?

Also this being from some of the Saw movies, I say this is far more brutal than the saw movies in my opinion.

The Victim (1999). Ringo Lam has been compared to John Woo, and this movie shows why. A furious mix of the supernatural, film noir, and outright thriller, this discombobulated story is over-the-top in that can't takes yer eyes off of the screen sorta way. The story itself was a little ambitious, with some elements left unanswered and other scenes more than incredulous. The subtitles were but pidgin English and flashed across the screen faster than a politician changes camps, but no matter, this was still a thrill ride. The acting was solid, and the direction more than competent. While the camera work showed promise, the editing was a little chunky. Again, no matter as this one will entertain despite its flaws. I just saw a film called SUICIDE. That is the whole title. It was made in 2004and directed by Raoul Heimrich. Its in german with subtitles. Its about a couple who design a website in which people who are going to kill themselves agree to be filmed in the act. Its filmed in the first person (like Blair Witch)so the viewer becomes a participant for most of the movie. The movie is unflinching in its depiction of various forms of suicide. About an hour in there is a depiction of a death that made me (a die hard horror fan) cringe. I think I squealed a little. Has anybody seen this little nasty? Id really appreciate your comments. I thought Id seen it but...
