. . . I was going to see the new one, but now, I think not. I wanted Leatherface to slash the screaming bitch in the original, but now there's a SuperVirgin! and she doesn't die? What in God's name is that?

Anyways, alot of emotional scenes like, "Oh Johnny, don't go into the house! It looks creepy!" "It'll be alright, Jane!" "Oh Johnny, I love you . . " "Oh Jane, Jane!" [insert passionate kiss] and then they get like, slashed or something. That's just stupid.

Oh man, its worse than you can possibly imagine. She actually gets away from him 3 times by laying on her back and kicking her feet at him, which ofcourse causes him to swing the chainsaw in a different direction:rolleyes: I wont "spoil" it for you, but lets just say by the end of the movie our good friend Leather gets it a good deal worse than that from the immortal seventh heaven star:mad:

I just wanted to say, once again, that CGI SUCKS!!!! I hate it with a passion. CGI is what made "The Hulk" a total flop!!! Sorry, but some fucking computer animation is no replacement for Lou Ferrigno!!! What is the point of making a horror film if you are too damned lazy to use prosthetics for your FX? They need to keep CGI the fuck out of movies. I'm sick of it, it looks stupid and fake, no matter how much money they spend on it. I think that a great deal of creativity is lost when filmmakers start employing the services of digital effects.

Bad acting and cheesy romance and exception to romance is Ash and Linda that was ok.

Gore cut out, i know people say its worst to not see gore but imagine it but i would rather gore.A exception to the gore rule, TCM original.

What Kills a Horror Film?

Definitely I agree with bad CGI, annoying characters (for me, the ultimate example of this was in The Lost Boys), and stupid decisions on the part of the filmmaking team. Someone mentioned morals / moral lessons, and I'd have to agree only in situations where this is enforced through any kind of religion. Religious horror films usually turn me off.

I always cringed through the "God" discussion in Poltergeist... It was sweet and everything, but it was used to give the film an 'acceptable' mainstream balance. It should have been used exploitingly. More characters should have died, especially the little girl. I have to say this because that's how it was written in this original script. Given the choice to kill 1 family member, the writers chose Carol-Anne. And I think it was wrong to change the story.

Another thing that ruins a horror movie for me, the viewing experience at least: Now I've got nothing against nudity in horror movies, nor am I the least bit ashamed of my body, but I can't watch a horror movie with some stupid rowdy guy in the room talking about tits and boobs and naked women. It's very annoying and just plain lowers the general intelligence of the whole room. I simply refuse to watch horror movies with chauvenists, or people drinking and getting high. Even if it's just us girls.

More Naked Men

A-fucking-men to that! I personally, am not sick of women, but I do think you have every right to be. It seems too frequently that only the closed minded are getting served in that department.

I don't need a quota of nude men, but I'd settle for a lot more topless scenes- also closer shots of attractive actors of all shapes, sizes, and colors in tighter clothes, butt-hugging jeans, see-through underwear; as well as more exploitative shots of muscles, skin, pecs, bulges. Hey, the MEN had their turn. And they've enjoyed their reign. When are the women finally going to get their piece of the action? :o

Girls could spend more money on horror, thereby getting proper consideration when it comes to what we want to see- except that horror isn't showing barely enough male skin, but still plenty of ladyflesh. So, how is horror ever supposed to change? As it stands, I guess most people don't think it needs to. But this wouldn't be a dramatic change. It would only be fair.

Romance and Drama...There are already genres for that

I myself prefer to see HORROR in my Horror movies

I also feel that nudity and sex in horror movies is out of place...What has it to do with "horror"?...I have never been scared by a boob or a bare ass in my entire life...I want to hear screaming, not moaning...and, this too already has it's own genre...If I want to see nudity and sex, I will watch a porno (never happen)

It is possible to make a good horror movie without the romance, drama, nudity and sex...Trust me...It can be and HAS been done:)

The whole nudity concept comes into play to make the person feel vulnerable. I mean 9 times out of 10 when your naked your safe. The 1 time your not safe is the time some chainsaw wielding maniac is standing right behind you. I think all horror, good horror in particulars main goal is to make the viewer feel that all is not as it appears. Even at our safest ( in a church ) or most enjoyable( wild animal sex) moment something can go wrong. Yes a pretty bed of flowers might exist but so does the flesh devouring monster that rests just below their pretty petals

Well, I agree that there is too much sex in horror movies, but then it all depends on how it's injected into the storyline. To be done right, it needs to seem like a natural occurrence, and not the least bit gratuitous.
