mine was leprecaun. i was like 6/7. my cousins rented it (they were all teens or preteens at that time). they say that i kept running out of the room every time that the leprecaun came on the screen. it really scared me and i didn't watch horror for a long time after that.

I have been looking at this thread for a while now and just trying to recall my first horror movie. It was probably some lame kiddie horror thing but the first proper adult one I can recall is seeing The Thing when I was about 10 as we had one pirate copy that went around the whole of the neighbourhood!

My first horror movie was Dracula (Christopher Lee): The prince of darkness...i'm almost 100% sure of this, though it could have been Psycho.

I think it was probably the 1931 "Frankenstein."
The first film I vividly remember being really startled by was "The Land Unknown," which had a scene where a pterodactyl swoops out of the mist and bumps into the main characters' helicopter accidentally (it's the first weird thing that happens, and it comes totally out of nowhere). I remember seeing this on TV when I was a small kid, and being really totally surprised. Whoa! |
