I've never come across a American pressing of Sabbath. The American pressings I had of MC5 and Big Star were fucking beautiful records.... really nice warm sound with sturdy as fuck covers. We get a lot more of the English pressings over here. Man Sabbath sounds like shit on CD... I really should get a new turntable and hook some vinyl up again.
A friend of mine swears by that C.O.C album. I've never really given them a proper listen.

Dark Angel was awesome, I haven't listened to them in awhile though...
newb the Wiseblood album is awesome, I've always been a big fan of COC... Been listening to the new Scar Symmetry a good bit the past few days, really good melodic death stuff, I've been very impressed with it...
