Was it not just based on some of the events that happened? Sure to make a film big they have to change stuff. As for the setting I would have no clue as I am from the UK (probably why I havent seen the oringinal its not all that big or talked aobut over here)

Actually I think it's plainfield Wisconsin. Based on Ed Gein. Most horror movies are in some fact or another. TCM didn't actually really happen.

you are an idiot if you think that the beginning of it was true (the whole fake film with leatherface attacking the police investigators at the 'real' house)

OK just a kinda update. I know some of you were shocked to discover that I had not seen the original TCM. Well I have now and I must say I was rather disappointed. I found it well boring. Some parts well they acctually raised a little giggle but thats about it. I have also rented TCM 2 and am unsure how that is gonna go. Anyway just letting you guys know that I have now seen the original and I guess I shouldnt have got myself so excited about it.

TCM 2 is great hopefully you'll like that one better. Crazy comic book style flick with a bunch of gore. I love it :D
