Down, boy.:p

I'm really looking forward to seeing The Descent. The Cave was a HUGE disappointment, so I'm sure I'll be pretty enthusiastic about TD.
Cave=Monster=hope.

The Descent is the first movie since Alien to actually scare me, The Cave certainly didn't, cool creatures tho

Descent came out almost 2 months before The Cave.

first, i second sloan's comment. 2nd, i take pr3ssur3's comment about neil marshall films being overrated - a word that is kicked around too much on this site (didn't we have a thread about the misuse of this word?), as an insult. american audiences (the conscious ones) do not treat foreign cinema as gold just b/c of the accents. and just b/c actors have british accents does not mean they can act. i watch a lot of foreign films and have seen just as much laughable shit from the uk as i do from hollywood. now dog soldiers and shawn of the dead are two respectable films... they're no citizen kane, but the acting is tight, the directing is on point, and the action/horror is effective. i'm sorry i just don't see these movies as "tacky and unimpressive."

This movie has it all...a hideous evil presence that's as scary as hell, a claustrophobic atmosphere, suspenseful, high-speed chases, buckets o' blood and a cast of beautiful ladies who are not only pretty, but who can also act! Not to mention a wonderful director, a tight score and a brilliant script that (for a horror movie) truly pays the utmost attention to the journey of the heroine and offers up the supporting characters as three dimensional characters as well, and ones who we generate a sympathy for through the duration of the film. I can't stop giving Marshall props for what a great job he's done!
