On Nova's topic:

As bad as that is, another thing that pisses me off is people that go out of their way to be different. Myself, Im pretty far from the "norm", but thats because I like different things than most people, not because I try to. For example, alot of people automatically despise mainstream movies/music, because it makes them feel "different". Myself, I do hate alot of mainstream crap, but thats because I think most of it sucks, not because it makes me all that different. Ill openly admit to liking mainstream bands like Barenaked Ladies and Blink 182.

I suck at puttig my thoughts into words, I just reread that and it doesnt sound right really...heres the gist of what I was trying to say:

Non-conformists conform with each other, and the hypocrisy of it pisses me off.

Maybe I don't understand. If you were talking to somebody about butchers and your brother John, who that person didn't know, was a butcher you wouldn't say, "my brother's a butcher"? Would you say "John's a butcher" and then when they ask who John is you explain that it's your brother whom they don't know. What an unnecessary (sp) step.

I dont tend to fit into any kind of group. Im pretty original thats for sure. But I have my tiny itty bitty group of friends. They shit me hell yes.

I know for one thing I dont use the term girlfriend or boyfriend. Not in my situation anyway. After being with cheebs for so long I use partner now. Tends to confuse some people haha.

So?

What's wrong with learning a person's name? It takes what, 2 seconds?

You're just talkin' semantics.

which sounds better to us strangers? a significant other.
AMEN - my pet peeve is people who start telling me long stories and ONLY use the proper name of people i don't know but never indicate their relationship:

"Me and Mary were at Tina's house talking about Joe"
"Who the HELL ARE THESE PEOPLE!!!" I say.

Well i go out of my way to look ..walk..talk different so i wont be noted as 'just being another face in the crowd'..its my style..my own uniqueness.
As for the partner introduction stuff..
obviously if ure holding hands..your a couple..so in saying' I would like you to meet john doe'..in holding his hand ..does it not mean he's your mate'?
If your not..try introducing your partner to the opposite sex without mentioning his/her status in your life and watch the dagger glares all night.

Note that when you do meet up with a crowd..your partner normally comes running to your side n grabs your arm or picks the fluff from your jacket..or butts in with a comment that make ppl ask 'oh so your his/her partner'
Thank god i dont go through that crap..
'its just 'hey ..this is harry' n this is kat..
n we get oooh kewl...stalker n stubborn!!Most of cyberspace know us anyways over here...personally
