I think his preformances have gone downhill after Romper Stomper.... he just became bubblegum and cheesy doing horrible sentimental movies with Ritchie Cunningham.

I don't have a problem with sentimental movie or Ron Howard. Who cares if he was on Happy Days as Ritchie Cunningham does that mean he can't make a good movie? What about Rob Reiner he was Micheal on All in the Family and he's done This is Spinal Tap,Misery and a few other really good films.

And what do you find bubblegum about his preformance in L.A. Confidential?

howard is a craftsman, a technically good filmmaker - for the masses.

Gladiator I do enjoy and L.A Confidential is outstanding, in my opinion. The acting in that movie is just fantastic all around. And I think it is Crowe's best (of what I have seen so far).

i wasnt bored but i take any 'real person' movie with a grain of salt. There is so much poetic license taken to make it cinematically appealing that i automatically dont believe anything on screen

I think he is a great actor who is WAY to fucking full of himself. When you become your own #1 fan, it''s time to get taken down a peg. Especially when you throw a fucking phone at someone....

That being said, Gladiator and LA COnfidential are two of my favorite movies. And who doesnt LOVE Virtuosity? cmon... Crowe AND Denzel Washington. plus a cameo by Traci Lords. That movie had everything. Plus, Have William Fitchner, William Forsythe and Kelly Lynch ever been in any bad movies? Cmon......

I would like to hear the answer to that also, because, in my opinion, Crowe owned that movie. And I am a big fan of several of the other actors in the film.

Now, I am a bit tired of Crowe's off screen antics myself. But there is no denying the fact that he is one of the best actors working today.

I could careless about what he does off camera maybe he is full of himself but we don't know the guy personally so we'll never know. I personally don't think he's that bad of a guy from what I've seen, I saw his ''Inside the Actor's Studio'' and he came off as a cool guy, when they got to the ''what word do you hate'' question he said and I quote ''it's a three word phrase, hollywood bad boy''.

I think urge has said this before about the media building up people only so they can take a big name that'll sell more papers and get more ratings when they break 'em down. Now obviously he's got an attitude problem or he wouldn't be throwning phones at people, pending on the performances we're yet to see this year I think he may have screwed himself out of a Cinderella Man oscar but hey everybody's got problems.

But anyway with all the celebrity crap aside I'm a movie fan and he's a great actor so I like him and every movie he's been in that I've seen so far.

That's understandable ''To each his own'' but I'm sure you'll agree that the backgrounds of actors and filmmakers have nothing to do with the work they do now, I know his films aren't for everybody nobody's films are for everybody but almost everytime a discussion including Ron Howard pops up here the fact that he was Ritchie Cunningham is brought up like it's actually relivant to what he does now.
