Resident evil: Degeneration.
Pretty good, a bit more along the lines of what I initially expected when seeing an RE movie.

Just like all the other comic movies that came out this year, you can tell the director and writer had a genuine love for the subject. Or they faked it REALLY well.

Oooh... boyfriend and I sooo want to see this, because we both loved Ray Stevenson in Rome and were so psyched when we read about him being the new Punisher. Can't wait now!

Keep what I said in mind, and it will be like a hit of heroine with a pizza chaser. :)

No, according to the writer/director its based on an incident when he was a kid where some weirdo was going house to house asking if someone was there and there were break ins. Or something equally retarded.

Dark City - Director's Cut

Maybe its just been too long since I watched the theatrical version, but I really didn't see much difference here. Glad to see they axed the ridiculous opening narration, but otherwise it was pretty much the same.

Still - awesome movie. Easily on par with The Matrix as one of the best sci-fi flicks of the late 90's.

Think of it as picking up a visual version of an 80s Marvel Punisher comic. You are gonna savor every moment of the flick after that.

The X-Files: I Want To Believe.

Ok this may be a long and overdrawn episode of the TV series, and granted it has a very interesting premise too, BUT what I didnt like about the flick was the "forced" chemistry between Mulder and Scully.

***MINOR SPOILERS***

The whole scene in the bed, the couple kissing scenes...look forced, and are put in just for the sake of making the curious viewer happy ("Will they finally kiss? Will they finally get in bed?" ). What made the original TV series a bestseller was the "distance" between the leads, here there is none.

Anderson looks old, and withdrawn and haggard. Its like "I am tired of playing Scully for the umpteenth time, but since I dont have many other choices...bring it on one more time." Duchovny tries his best to be enthusiastic, but falls short of delivering. Amanda Peet is actually refreshing to watch. There are some really notable scenes, but overall, the movie gives off the feeling of being flat.

I hope they stop re-hashing this franchise after this one.

Rating - * * ½

Yeah I can't wait to see the Punisher. I'm so glad they went back to what it should have been. The other two movies were just so hollywood and they finally have a REAL punisher movie(from what I've seen). It wasn't meant to be a mind expander, just action and violence. That Ray Stevenson IS the punisher, the first second I saw the trailer, not that pussy Tom Jane and Travolta...Hollywood bullshit.
