Hi Extr3mist I liked the Abominable Dr. Phibes in 1971 a hell of alot more than TCM in 1974. IMO Phibes was very creative when he was kiiling people and that I liked a great deal I found that movie very entertaining. Now TCM Leatherface only seems to make motions with his chainsaw like he is cutting anyone can see he is not. I felt jipped. The dinner scene is about Sally being scared to death. Hooper goes out of his way to make this scene look like what would happen if a girl were placed in this situation. I like what he did but again I didnt see the girl get slashed or her body parts chopped off which I would have enjoyed watching. I saw Sally make her get away then Leatherface chace after her. If you see the title TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE then see the movie by the movies end you feel jipped because as a viewer there was no massacre. The Massacre that there was you never see you just see people lying on a table and hung on a hook but no blood & guts. The Death Scenes in the 2 Phibes movie Hell yeah creative inventive fun to watch people die. If you ask me there was more of a massacre in the Omen than in TCM and the death scenes in the Omen are great!!!

so you would've liked the texas chainsaw massacre if it had peopel getting chopped up and you would've got to see the girl get all hacked up. and you actually used the words ''i didn't see the girl get slashed or her body parts chopped off which i would have enjoyed watching'' there's nothing at all wrong with the way that sounds to you?

Well Austin look at the title of the movie TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. Now if I read that title and I pay to go see this movie I am hoping I will see what the title implys and I didnt see any massacre. And the movie was kind of dull. Now when I saw the Omen in 1976 I knew it was about the AntiChrist also I saw plenty of good death scenes something you didnt see in TCM.

Now imagine a new Frankenstien movie is made and you go to see it and in the movie Victor digs up a few bodys put the parts togeher and pulls the switch hoping his creation will come to life cause this is what you go see a Frankenstien movie for right. Anyway lets say the body just stays still on the table and the cops start to investigate who has been digging up graves. At the movies end the Frankenstien monster never gets up and gets lose and attacks people. Well thats how I felt about TCM back in 1974 because I didnt see any massacre. I felt jipped

I also MUCH prefer Dr. Phibes over TCM, but TCM was still an amazing movie. I had a party a few months ago, we watch a few horror movies, climaxing with TCM. My 2 friends both felt the same way as you Gojira, jipped and disapointed. I however, love every second, especially the dinner...creepy as hell.

now i've got to use your own stuff against you. the title Frankenstien implys a movie about frankenstien who is the creator of the monster not the monster so that would actually be sticking to the title. it's not called frankenstien's creature gets up and terrorizes town it's just called frankenstien so it would actually be doing what you don't like and that's sticking strictly to the title if the monster never got up and did anything.

LOL Austin everyone know the movie Frankenstien is about a Dr. who brings a dead body back to life. Then something goes wrong because Fritz drops the brain and the body that comes to life has a subnormal brain. We all know what to expect when we see a new Frankenstien movie. I was making the point if the person Dr. Frankenstien made never were to get up at all then as a viwer I am sure you might feel jipped never getting to see the body come to life. Well thats how I felt about TCM back in 74 I never saw Leatherface take a chainsaw and chop up everyone. I think a more propper title for TCM back in 1974 would have been Texas Wackos because thats what you do see in the movie just a wacked out family that scares people.

That's the genius of TCM though. Your imagination (remember those?) is far worse than what would have been shown in the movie. Just knowing she is hanging by a meathook as Leatherface goes to town with a chainsaw on her boyfriend is chilling enough. What you don't see in the movie helps it ten fold. I mean, that chase at the end is terrifying. Seeing the gore would have cheapened the actual horror of the movie.

As it stands now, TCM is one of the scariest movies out there. Had it been shown in all its glory, it would have been a gore hounds dream, but not frightening at all.

Hi Omen I am just one of the people who saw TCM and did not find one bit of it to be scary. I sat watching it hoping the good part would come along for me it never did. Lets take the movie the Omen which I like a great deal imagine if the big spearlike pole that kills the priest didnt show the pole go into him lets say the scene was you see the pole fall to the priest you dont see it touch him but you see him leaning next to the pole dead. If that would have been scene I am sure you would have felt jipped because you would not have seen the pole penitrate his body. So when I see Leatherface not hacking off body parts in TCm and just making motions I feel jipped to me that is not horror. Hey I could put on a mask get a chainsaw make motions as though i am hacking up a body without touching it and that would not be scary at all. I say make movies like Dr. Phibes where you see people get killed and it looks real or the Omen or movies along those lines.
