Hollow's End

It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown

Some of these are out-and-out kids' movies, but that doesn't mean they suck. It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown is a great cartoon for "kids" of all ages, and so is the film The Halloween Tree. And others were added just because they are Halloween themed (not necessarily because they were any good.)

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow [1949] Is that the animated Walt Disney version ? I was talking about it with the wife just the other day. I was wondering when it was made. I guessed the 40's- 50's. I need to pick that one up.

Yes, the 1949 version is the Disney animated version (narrated by Bing Crosby). Despite being a cartoon, this is an excellent adaptation of the story. And as a cartoon, it is excellently done. Any frame of this picture can be frozen and made into a painting, it's just that good (it shows how lazy Disney animators have become in the digital age.)

The 1979 version is a TV movie that is all-around lousy, save for Jeff Goldblum's performance as Ichabod Crane.

The 1986 version was made for Showtime for Shelly Duvall's Tall Tales and Legends. It's a visually striking film, but Ed Begley Jr.'s portrayal of Ichabod is just plain painful.

The last one, the 1999 version, is the Tim Burton film with Johnny Depp. Probably the best adaptation next to the Disney film.

I watch horror movies pretty much every day, and I never really watch television...So...To be honest...The only thing that I really look forward to watching on Halloween, are the Simpson's Halloween Specials:cool:

I love Disneys 1949 version. I havent seen it in a very long time. That horseman used to scare the crap out of me when I was little.I must pick it up before Halloween so I can watch it with the kids.hee,hee,hee.....

I have also seen the Tim Burton version. I liked it as well.
