I think Mother Firefly or Grandpa maybe was a patient of Dr. Satan before he was supposely hung and they decided to save him and let him do his work at their house. Just an idea I guess. Maybe Rob Zombie will explain it in the second one.

i just want to say that i didn't really like this movie and only saw it once. i just thought that it was a big rip but anyway.
i think that capt. spalding is a cousin of the family.

Okay... Warning, I am obsessed with the family.
Captain Spaulding is Baby's father. Otis knows the family because he and Baby were pulled into a cult lead by Dr. Satan(hence how Dr. Satan is involved). They were later kicked out and continued back to the Firefly family. It is never revealed whether Capt. Spaulding nor The Professor is Earl. There's a mistake. Mother Firefly implies that Earl lit Tiny on fire and now is dead. Where in 'Pussy Liquor' by Rob Zombie it is said, "Earl had a baby, Baby was her name." Rufus's father is never revealed. And Grampa Hugo's character is never explained in detail. But Captain Spaulding is or was at one time married to Mother Firefly. They're re not siblings.
